The Good Day Journal

The little things, written down.

A few notes about walks, meals, and quiet moments. A useful place to begin your next conversation.

You notice what makes them, them.

The way they settle after a walk. The route they choose. How they greet the morning. A few small notes can make your next conversation with your veterinarian more useful.

This is a simple observation guide to save or print, not a diagnostic record or a veterinary appointment.

Write the date and your dog’s name at the top of a notebook. Then keep these four prompts close.

  1. Their starting point

Age, weight, current food, treats, medication and care products. Note what you have changed recently.

  2. What you noticed

Record a specific moment: appetite, stools, paw licking, movement, sleep or response to a familiar sound.

  3. What stayed the same

The walk, the food, the time of day. Similar observations are easier to compare.

  4. What you want to ask

Keep questions for your veterinarian. Don’t wait for a journal review if something is sudden, severe or getting worse.
